PharmaCare
The PharmaCare program subsidizes the eligible cost of prescription drugs and designated medical supplies. PharmaCare provides assistance to British Columbians under Fair PharmaCare and specialty plans.
Health Insurance BC (HIBC) administers PharmaCare on behalf of the Ministry of Health. For more information on PharmaCare, or to register for the Fair PharmaCare plan, visit the PharmaCare website or call, toll-free, 1-800-663-7100 (in Greater Vancouver, call 604-683-7151).
The Province’s Fair PharmaCare plan provides assistance to those who need it most, based on their net income as reported on their tax return. To be eligible, you must be registered with the Medical Services Plan. Fair PharmaCare requires a one-time registration, by telephone or online. There is no charge to register and there are no premiums to pay.
To calculate how much financial help you might be able to receive, use the Fair PharmaCare Calculator.
